Flynn Butler Fraser // Sólàs Collective

Flynn Butler Fraser

Flynn is a Scottish composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work blends a mixture of  traditional, contemporary classical & electroacoustic elements. Currently studying at the  Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he has showcased his versatility through a wide range of  performances: including live diffusing his electroacoustic works, working collaboratively on  the absurdist melodrama ‘The Pathetic Planet’ with contemporary duo Romi Sarfaty and  Dale Williamson, developing an acousmatic work for the Conservatoire’s ballet department,  and having a new premiere performed by the Nordic Viola ensemble. Flynn currently resides  in Clackmannanshire.

Flynn will perform a collection of diverse & contemporary works for the Scottish Smallpipes,  this unique performance pushing the instrument out with its traditional boundaries. The  music, ranging from ambient to active, is further supported through the composer’s distinct  electronic approach.
