Hank Tree is a Glasgow based project led by Fergus MacDonald (ex- State Broadcasters), also comprising Roy Shearer (Ultras, Inspector Tapehead), Bart Owl (Eagleowl, Broken Chanter) and singer-songwriter Faith Eliott. Hank Tree’s debut LP, The Big North, was released in 2022, via Olive Grove Records, and features songs inspired by the dramatic rise and fall of prosperity of the desert region of El Norte Grande in Chile. The band’s sound is characterised by fast picked classical guitars, atmospheric ballads, distortion-heavy instrumentals and hushed vocals, often incorporating field recordings and featuring lyrics focusing on social history. They have supported artists including King Creosote, Alasdair Roberts and Gwenifer Raymond, and have received radio play on BBC 6 Music and BBC Scotland.

Upturned Boats is a 5 piece indie rock band led by Glasgow based songwriter Bill G Black. Formed in 2021, Upturned Boats showcase Black’s unique songwriting talents and his love of collaboration. Upturned Boats incorporate Bill’s shared love of US and UK indie rock and folk bands such as Wilco, Big Thief, Phoebe Bridgers, Sufjan Stevens, Daughter, Pinegrove and Sparklehorse with the bands he first fell in love with music to like The Smiths, Orange Juice and The Wedding Present. Upturned Boats play off kilter, lyrical, indie guitar music with joy and passion.
