Selkie has spent recent years performing across Japan, Chile and Mexico, while Marina moved from Tokyo to London to develop her music. For a long time, they hoped to play the same room together.

Now, in Glasgow, their music meets for the first time.

For fans of: Björk, Cocteau Twins, Daughter, Radiohead

Selkie’s links: Bandcamp | Instagram | Website

Selkie is a Scottish musician creating voice-led ambient pop and electronic folk, built around electric guitar and atmospheric vocal-based sound design. Her work is spacious and unhurried, using the voice as both melodic and textural presence.

The project took shape during a period when speaking, and even breathing, felt fragile, and returning to sound became a way of rebuilding trust in voice and body. Sitting at the piano each day developed into a quiet, grounding practice, one that drew Selkie toward nature, ritual, and the slow unfolding of songs.

Over time, these early sketches expanded into a broader body of work. From pianos in Glasgow to bedroom studios in Berlin and onto stages across Japan, Selkie’s music has grown through movement and place. Her songs favour restraint and openness, allowing space for ambiguity and emotional resonance rather than resolution.

Her music has received support from BBC Introducing Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland, and has been covered by outlets including The Skinny, Glamglare and The Slow Music Movement.

Having recently completed a tour in Mexico, Selkie now returns to Scotland with her debut EP In Waves in its final stages, ahead of its release later in 2026.

Marina Yozora’s links: Bandcamp | Instagram | Linktree

Marina Yozora is a London-based dream pop and shoegaze singer-songwriter from Tokyo, known for her lush, reverb-soaked vocals layered over immersive, textured guitar.
