New wave legends Restricted Code return to the Old Hairdresser\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Restricted Code, one of the original bands of \u201cThe Sound of Young Scotland,\u201d play the Old Hairdresser\u2019s on Saturday 5th<\/sup> September 2026<\/strong>. \u00a0Formed in Glasgow in 1978, Restricted Code were among the most talked-about bands of the post-punk era. Signed to Bob Last\u2019s Pop:Aural label, they recorded a John Peel session and toured the UK and Europe with The Human League. Sounds<\/em> hailed one performance as the \u201cbest gig of 1981\u201d before the band split later that year, having never released a full-length album.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reunited in 2018 with their original line-up, the band finally released that long-awaited debut, Chasing Shadows<\/em>, in November 2025 on Last Night From Glasgow. The record charted in the UK\u2019s Official Scottish Albums Chart at #34 on release, reaching #13 in the UK Official Indie Charts, with The Scotsman<\/em> awarding 4-stars and praising its \u201cwarm electric piano, crooning vocals and melodic synths.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band will play Chasing Shadows, as well as debuting new material and dipping in to the best of their back catalogue.<\/p>\n
