Lead Sister are an indie rock band from Glasgow formed in 2019 by ex Sons and Daughters lead singer/songwriter Adele Bethel.

The band name came from a t-shirt sported by Karen Carpenter of seventies sibling duo The Carpenters. After writing primarily on her own, Adele decided it was time to enlist a guitarist and songwriting partner and it seemed fitting, given the band name, to ask her musician brother Iain. A self produced 4 song demo EP was uploaded to Bandcamp and the band played a sold out show in December 2021 at Hug and Pint in Glasgow. After a few line up changes and a hiatus due to ill health the band returned to Hug and Pint in June this year supporting Glasgow’s FO Machete and showcasing new drummer Nina Glencross, also of indie pop band Flinch.The band cite influences such as PJ Harvey,Guided By Voices and Blondie.Their debut EP ‘ War of the Words’ will be released in September 2025.
