Richard Youngs (b. 1966, Cambridge, England) is a musician based in Glasgow, Scotland. In an endlessly prolific and unpredictable career spanning more than 40 years, his diverse output defies the existence of any definitive biography or discography. Primarily recognised as a solo artist and writer of extended song, he is also an active cross-genre collaborator. Recent work includes “deep wallpaper” music with Daniel O’Sullivan, and the potentially global site-specific Here Is A Big Place project with Raymond MacDonald. Initially a rare live performer, he has embraced the stage, playing throughout Europe in the past few years.
West Virginia born, Texas raised, and now based in Glasgow, Scotland, Heather Leigh is a musician, artist and gardener who loves to sing and play pedal steel guitar. Impossible to pigeonhole, her playing is as physical as it is phantom, combining spontaneous compositions with psychedelic folk and industrial-strength progressive rock. Leigh’s steel mainlines sanctified slide guitar and deforms it using hypnotic tone-implosions, juggling walls of bleeding amp tone with choral vocal constructs and wrenching single note ascensions. Hers is a sound that’s highly sensual and aesthetically aggressive, beautiful and fearless. Heather Leigh’s work is all-over-the-place in the best way, from collaborations with Peter Brötzmann and Shackleton to properly mind-bending solo albums on Ideologic Organ, Editions Mego and Boomkat Editions.
Luke Fowler is an artist-filmmaker from Glasgow. He is a member of the band AMOR and has collaborated with Richard Youngs both live and on record for over 20 years. Other musical collaborators include Ryoko Akama, Eric La Casa, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Nakul Krishnamurthy, Anton Lukoszevieze, Toshiya Tsunoda, Marcus Schmickler and Mark Fell.
