DITKO! A play in progress

In the summer of 1965, Marvel Comics faced one of its most unexpected challenges when the artist of their best-selling come strip The Amazing Spider-Man quit without rhyme or reason.
The artist’s name was Steve Ditko, and this play is an attempt to set the record straight on why the co-creator of one of the world’s most recognisable characters walked away.
Set in real time over the course of one hour, Steve meets with his collaborator, Stan Lee, to inform him of his leaving the company. That’s all well and good but, Stan isn’t exactly satisfied with Steve’s enigmatic approach, and locks the pair of them in an office room, throwing away the key.
Stan will stop at nothing to get answers.
Steve will stop at nothing to get out of there.
From Astro Domino, Ditko! A Play In Progress is a rehearsed reading of a show made by fans of the source materiel, who aren’t afraid to poke fun at the people who made it.
With a cast of just three performers, Ditko! is premiering for the first time on April 12th, at 7pm, only at The Old Hairdresser’s.
